It’s fair to say The Donald and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos aren’t on the best terms with Trump attacking Bezos for using his Washington Post ownership to keep taxes low on Amazon and keep it free of antitrust allegations. Amazon Global Store launches for cross border tax paid shopping: Chris Dawson at Tamebay reports that Amazon have launched Amazon Global Store to enable sales to consumers from Amazon sites around the world. In a similar manner to eBay’s Global Shipping Program, consumers can find and buy products from Amazon in the US on Amazon UK. Sellers report delays at Amazon warehouses: Chris Dawson at Tamebay reports on multiple threads on Amazon Seller Central suggesting that there are currently delays in processing inbound shipments to Amazon warehouses. FBA falls down if your stock doesn’t get put on the shelves and is stuck in goods in or in some cases we’ve heard of delivery was refused and the goods are stuck in the courier’s depot. The issues don’t appear to be limited to any single Amazon FBA centre and reports of goods stuck in transit since late October don’t bode well. Continue reading…
Amazon might launch a Prime housekeeping service: Matt Brian at Engadget reports that The Seattle Times has spotted that Amazon is looking for “Home Assistants,” who work with customers to tidy people’s homes, do laundry, put groceries away and “assure that customers return to an errand-free home.” The ads originally stated that Amazon’s goal was to offer “timesaving assistance to Amazon Prime members,” suggesting that its new cleaning service would be offered as a Prime perk. Black Friday 2016 Amazon deals and discounts could begin next week: David Selling at The Express reports that after Tesco and Argos have confirmed their sales will start on 21 November, Amazon is also expected to cut prices early in a bid to cash in on Brits wanting to get their Christmas presents early. Last year Amazon began discounting products a week early with big saving on smartphones, smartwatches, DVDs and TVs.
