Handmade at Amazon travels abroad: Ben Fox Rubin at CNET reports that Amazon’s hub for handcrafted, artisanal ware is making its first move outside the US, in time for the holiday season. The site, called Handmade at Amazon, expanded on Thursday to the e-retailer’s five European marketplaces: UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Amazon undercuts rivals with launch of new photo printing service, Amazon Prints: Sarah Perez at TechCrunch reports that Amazon has quietly launched a new service called Amazon Prints, which allows consumers to print photos and custom photo books, and soon, other photo products like stationery and calendars, at prices significantly cheaper than rivals. UK online shopping hits new highs in August 2016: Chris Dawson at Tamebay reports that online spending in the UK hit £9.9 billion last month according to the latest IMRG Capgemini Sales Index. That’s a increase of 16.3% year-on-year based on August 2015. The £9.9 billion spent online during August, resulted in the total estimated spend to date in 2016 reaching £80.0 billion, up from £69.6 billion in the period January to August 2015.
