Amazon have just announced a new standard for product titles. More details below,
“All listings sellers create after July 15, 2015 with a title length more than 200 characters will be suppressed from search and browse. Suppressed listings do not appear when a customer browses a category or searches to find a product. Existing listings with a title length more than 200 characters will not be suppressed, but the titles may be shortened by Amazon to meet this criteria.
If you write Amazon MWS applications for sellers, Amazon recommends that you impose a 200-character limit on product title length in any UI for listing creation that you implement.”
