Whole Foods is now far more affordable… thanks to Amazon: Hatty Collier at The Evening Standard reports that Amazon has slashed the prices of a range of products at its newly-acquired grocery chain Whole Foods. On Monday, its first day of full ownership, prices were cut by up to 43% in its US stores. It lowered the cost of items including organic avocados, eggs, bananas and rotisserie chickens. Amazon slashes Music Unlimited subscriptions for students: Jonathan Shieber at TechCrunch reports that Amazon Music Unlimited (for students) is available in the US for the low-low price of $4.99 per month. Amazon and Microsoft link up voice assistants: Sky News reports that Amazon and Microsoft’s voice assistants will soon be allowed to talk to each other, in a move designed to bridge Amazon’s dominance in the home with Microsoft’s popularity in the office. Putting Windows 10 and Amazon Echo devices in touch with each other is meant to encourage users to benefit from what both companies will see as a complementary range of services. Continue reading…
