Amazon Prime Day 2017 will take place in the second week of July (it took place on July 12 last year). Third-party sellers can expect a surge in sales with the increase in customer footfall around this date.
Amazon began prepping sellers last week; here’s what you can expect.
- Amazon Prime Day deals will run for 30 hours.
- Amazon merchants have until 21 May to submit their top ASINs for Lightning Deals for Prime Day consideration, no exceptions.
- Deals must offer discounts of at least 20%, and there must be enough quantity to last the duration of the offer (Prime Day Lightning Deals run a maximum of 6 hours).
- For the privilege of offering steep discounts to Amazon Prime Day shoppers, merchants must pay a fee of between $300 and $500 per deal.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is a one-day shopping event exclusively for Prime members. For consumers, it can be a good day to pick up a bargain on a wide range of products including electronic goods.
Savvy buyers can use free tools such as CamelCamelCamel to see the price history of the goods they’re purchasing. That way, they’ll be able to see exactly how much they are saving.
