Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime
Amazon’s Seller-Fulfilled Prime program allows sellers goods to qualify for Prime without having to be warehoused by Amazon. In the second half of 2015, Amazon added 500,00 products to Prime’s existing catalogue of 20 million items.
Sellers have to have a good track record of shipping on time and although Amazon won’t subsidise the two-day shipping cost for participating sellers, it will allow them to use Amazon rates.
The initiative is the latest example of Amazon making their Prime program more attractive to customers paying $99 per annum. Seller-Fulfilled Prime has helped Amazon artificially expand its warehousing by outsourcing the storage of Prime products to sellers.
