The Best Selling Amazon Products of 2014

Amazon Kindle - one of the bestselling products of 2014

As an Amazon seller, you’re used to exchanging your products for consumers’ money. While you may get a sense of what’s popular, RepricerExpress wants to flip things around a little bit and tell you the best selling Amazon products of 2014. Who knows — you may just be able to cross a thing or two off your holiday shopping list!

Video Games

There are two camps of video game players: staunch traditionalists who believe games like Tetris and Super Mario Bros 1 were genius in their simplicity, and those who can’t wait to see what’s coming out next.

  • Grand Theft Auto V: You steal cars, shoot people (don’t be like this guy and call the cops), go on rampages — for some reason, this game has become one of the most popular this decade and players can’t get enough. It’s fun enough to play for a little bit, but where’s the plot? Either way, GTA V is super popular for both Xbox One and PS4.
  • FIFA 15: The real-life FIFA may be rife with controversy and corruption, but the beautiful game for Xbox 360 remains as pure and fun as ever. Channel your inner Messi or Neymar and send your team to victory. No diving, please.

Toys

Finding the right toy for the little ones in your family can be a trial and a headache at the best of times. Fads change so quickly: one month, it’s Tickle-Me-Elmo and the next, it’s Bratz dolls. As you get older, you move further and further away from what’s cool with kids and it’s tough to get back into knowing. Searching online is a fantastic way to suss out information because metrics don’t lie. With more shopping taking place on the internet, see what are the most clicked-after products is a more-than-helpful guide in what to get. Here are a few toys that are hotly making the rounds on Amazon.

  • Barbie Colour Change Handbag: For decades, Barbie was going steady with Ken until Mattel decided to shake things up a bit. She broke up with Ken (two days before Valentine’s, no less!) to go out with Australian surfer Blaine. After a brief romance with the Aussie, Barbie realised it was Ken who’d had her heart all along and they got back together. Mattel’s ploy worked, keeping Barbie popular and in the news, and now they can comfortably get back to releasing trinkets and accessories like the purse that changes colour. It’s pretty neat, actually, because all you have to do is hold the handbag up against a colour and see it morph.
  • BoomCo Rapid Madness blaster: No matter what your age, there’s something irresistibly fun about shooting things into the air (although, when you were younger, there was also an illicit thrill in doing it when your mother’s back was turned, wasn’t there?). This toy shoots off little darts — up to 20 of them in just a matter of seconds — and sends them flying up to 50 feet. Pretty nifty, eh?
  • Teksta T-Rex: Once upon a time, there was the Tamagotchi and when its time in the spotlight died out, along came the Furby. Until we’ve learned how to create humans from culture, toys will keep being invented that move and make sounds like semi-real sentient beings. This dinosaur may not resemble an actual living, breathing T-Rex, but after you download the app, you can feed it, talk to it, pet it and teach it commands.

Electronics

Ever since electricity was invented, humanity hasn’t ceased to try and create newer and better toys. Although it seems like the analog versus digital debate will never die down, Amazon’s electronics sales prove that adult-level toys are popular and here to stay.

  • Kindle Paperwhite 6”: When the Kindle first came out, it caused quite a commotion. Books…on a device? And you can load thousands of them into something that weighs little more than a smartphone? Instead of squinting down at a small smartphone screen, the Kindle Paperwhite lets you read anytime, anywhere.
  • Kindle 6” Glare-Free Touchscreen: One of the downsides to the newer Kindles is their lack of battery life. Because they’re backlit, the battery gets used up quickly but that’s not the case with the original gangster Kindle. While it hasn’t changed much since the first version, this one comes with a touchscreen, which is pretty nifty.
  • Amazon Fire TV: Cable companies, what? Do people even subscribe to get channels on their TV, especially when devices like the Amazon Fire exist? You can stream, and we quote, “thousands of TV episodes and movies, millions of songs and over a hundred games.”
