Amazon tells customers, throw away unsafe hoverboards: BBC News reveals that Amazon has told customers who bought certain hoverboards to throw them out after concerns they can catch fire. In an email, the firm told buyers of self-balancing scooters with “non-compliant UK plugs” to dispose of the product at a recycling centre and they would automatically be refunded within three days, it said. Golden Globe nominations show Netflix is taking over: K.M. McFarland at Wired reports on the nominations for the 73rd Golden Globes which includes nominations for Amazon and Netflix shows. Netflix has been winning Golden Globes since 2013 thanks to House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. In the Best Series, Musical or Comedy category, four out of the six nominees came from streaming sites including Orange is the New Black and Amazon’s Transparent.
eBay to adjust delivery estimates: Chris Dawson at Tamebay reports that eBay have states that they will start to take courier delivery estimates into account from the 16 December. Delivery estimates for Royal Mail, Parcelforce, myHermes, DPD and CollectPlus services will be adjusted on eBay UK in accordance with each courier’s recommended last posting dates for Christmas deliveries.
