Amazon’s new Prime Now site offers same-day deliveries on web as well as mobile: Rich McCormick at The Verge reports Amazon has launched a new dedicated site for its Prime Now same-day delivery service. Primenow.com allows Prime subscribers to order items via the web for one or two hour deliveries as long as their postcode is part of the service. Previously, customers had to use a mobile app. One hour deliveries cost $7.99 but two hour deliveries are free on a range of goods including perishables, cleaning products and Amazon’s own hardware. Amazon launch Pan-EU FBA programme: Dan Wilson at Tamebay reports that Amazon is making it easier for UK sellers to plug in to their EU FBA network. You can now send your goods to a generic EU warehouse and Amazon will take care of the rest. Amazons states, “Pan-European FBA enables you to sell across Europe by helping you place inventory closer to your customers in Europe, and fulfilling and delivering orders fast at lower costs. Selling with Pan-European FBA makes your products eligible for Prime and visible to millions of customers across Amazon’s European marketplaces.” Continue reading…
Are you now offering 30-day returns on eBay? Chris Dawson at Tamebay reports that if you want to display the Premium Service badge on your eBay listings and qualify for seller discounts, you will have to offer 30-day returns. Previously, the returns window on eBay was 14 days in line with EU directives on consumer rights. You can still stick with the shorter returns window and just accept that you won’t get seller discounts on your fees or have the Premium Service badge displayed to buyers. Continue reading…
Amazon Fresh food deliveries to start this month in UK: Sarah Butler at The Guardian reports that Amazon is believed to be planning to start delivering fresh food in the UK this month. The ecommerce giant is reported to have begun testing fresh food deliveries from its depot in east London. Amazon is expected to ramp up its food business after appointing Doug Gurr, the boss of its Chinese operations and a former Asda executive, to run its UK operations. Continue reading…
