Amazon EU titles’ new limit is 200 characters: Chris Dawson at Tamebay reports that Amazon is set to limit product titles to no more than 200 characters (including spaces) from the 6 April across all its EU sites. Listings with titles containing more than 200 characters will be suppressed from search results and potential customers simply won’t see your products. Amazon rejects products from FBA sellers: Ina Steiner at eCommerceBytes reports that Amazon sellers attempting to send shipments of inventory to FBA fulfilment centers have been receiving rejection notices on certain products within the shipments. There has been widespread reports of unexplained refusals of inventory, with sellers saying they could see no logic behind the actions. Many sellers reported receiving a message stating, “You are already at the maximum inventory allowed for this product, due to capacity or other restrictions. This product must be removed from this shipment.”
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May’s Amazon Prime car show set for autumn release: Jack Shepherd at The Independent reports that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May’s upcoming Amazon Prime show which has a reported £4 million per episode budget will be released this autumn/fall according to a Reddit AMA with James May. Other things we learnt from the question and answer session include that when they appeared on Top Gear, the trio were always pretty free to do what they liked. Amazon hosts secret conference for robotics, AI and space experts: Greg Sandoval at GeekWire reports that Amazon this week held an exclusive, invitation-only conference for experts in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics and space exploration in Palm Springs, according to a report in Bloomberg. Attendees of the Machine-Learning Automation, Robotics and Space Exploration, or MARS, included representatives from Toyota Motor Corp., Rethink Robotics, as well as experts from such schools as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of California at Berkeley and ETH Zurich. eBay trials new returns options system for sellers: Dan Wilson at Tamebay reports that eBay is currently undertaking a trial to give sellers more choices about how they respond to buyer claims with the aim of helping sellers get the results they think they deserve, especially when it comes to ‘not as described’ or suspected fraudulent returns. eBay also says it’s improving the guidance and procedures that are given to the 1,500 or so customer support reps who preside over the adjudications.
