The Grand Tour: Amazon reveal Clarkson, May and Hammond show name: BBC News reports that former Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May’s new show on Amazon’s Prime finally has a name. The Grand Tour will host each episode in a different country and will be launched this autumn exclusively for Amazon Prime members. Jeff Bezos sells 1 percent of his Amazon stock for $671M: James Covery at The New York Post reports that Jeff Bezos sold 1% of his stake in Amazon this week, just over a million shares for $671 million. It’s the largest pile of cash ever netted in a share sale for Bezos, the fourth-wealthiest person in the world, with a net worth of $54 billion. The shares were sold according to a predetermined schedule and brought the Seattle-based Web tycoon’s ownership of the online giant down to about 17 percent. Continue reading…
Google will dump your products on 16th May unless you add GTINs: Chris Dawson at Tamebay reports that from 16 May Google will require GTINs for all products with a GTIN assigned by the manufacturer. This will almost certainly impact you if you sell new, brand-name products that are sold by multiple merchants. You won’t be impacted if you sell used, custom, handmade, or vintage products but Google says that you can still improve your ad performance by adding unique product identifiers to your product data where they’re available. Amazon to improve delivery amid race concerns: Sky News reports that Amazon will improve its same-day delivery service following claims that some black and minority neighbourhoods are excluded. Bloomberg said its analysis of the areas eligible for same-day delivery in 27 US cities was biased in favoured of white residents. For example in Boston, most of the city was eligible for the service apart from the predominantly black neighbourhood of Roxbury in the centre.
