The Best Amazon Black Friday 2015 deals: The Telegraph reports that this year’s Black Friday is predicted to be the biggest ever. On Black Friday in 2014, Amazon received orders for more than 5.5 million goods, selling 64 items per second overtaking Cyber Monday, as Amazon’s busiest day of the year. Christopher North, Managing Director of Amazon.co.uk said, “Customers love Black Friday. Every year we see more excitement and more demand for great deals. US ecommerce holiday spend will reach $70bn, mobile booms as online growth slows to 9%: Ingrid Lunden at TechCrunch reports that comScore has published its annual e-commerce forecasts for the holiday season. The researchers predict US consumers will spend $70 billion on sites such as Amazon, eBay, Walmart and Apple. According to comScore, Amazon will lead the charge as the most-used retailer, accounting for 20% of all ecommerce sales. Transactions via mobile devices are gaining in popularity. Continue reading…
Amazon pulls Nazi symbols from New York subway ad campaign: Adi Robertson at The Verge reports that Amazon’s ad campaign for alternate history series The Man in the High Castle hasn’t gone over well. To help promote the series, Amazon wrapped New York subway seats with iconography from Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. After criticism and pressure from “various authorities”, the ads have been removed by the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Continue reading…
